So my "culinary craftiness" entries stem from finding recipes that trick you into thinking that you have accomplished some sort of culinary wizardy in the kitchen. Easy stuff, that tastes great, and is quick to make. You'll notice that I have not entered much here. Evidence that I am not a culinary beast cat. . .
However this weekend I do have something fabulous to blog about:
Cold Ginger, Soy, and Honey Sesame Noodles
(I stumbled upon this recipe online from Rachael Ray)
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons peanut butter (oops, now that I'm reading the recipe with my glasses on I realized that I used 2 TABLESPOONS! It tasted great though . . . .)
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons tamari (dark soy sauce)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon ground ginger)
1/4 pound spaghetti,
1 tablespoon light sesame seeds, toasted over medium-low heat for 3 minutes (optional - I didn't do it)
Directions:
In a medium microwavable bowl, heat the peanut butter in the microwave oven on high until melted, 15-20 seconds. Whisk the honey and tamari into the peanut butter, then whisk in the sesame oil and ginger. Toss the spaghetti with the sauce and top with the sesame seeds.
Obviously you are going to need to double/triple/quadruple this recipe for your family. My husband wanted it for dinner two nights in a row and my kids call it Peanut Butter noodles (since I obviously used exponentially more peanut butter than I should have! ;)
Enjoy!
