Let's face it - I'm not a value shopper. Definitely not the kid you want to take to the store if you are looking to save some cash. I could have cooked our basic spaghetti dinner for a whole lot less but I can't help myself!
Noodles:
Could have bought: the 99 cent pack of noodles, but I opted for the 1.99 pack that was pressed on bronze plates and made in Italy. It made spaghetti feel more Italian . . .
Sauce;
I could have bought the 1.99 bottle of sauce - but I went with the $5 sauce because it was all natural and all that jazz. I had eco-unnatural food guilt.
French Bread:
I know you can buy the grocery store french bread that is like .99 or 1.99 but I had to opt for the loaf that came from the Avenues bakery and was all wonderful.
Zuchinni -
Well - that is 6's - I didn't really think about that one.
and finally -
Parmesan Cheese: Of course I didn't get the Kraft kind. I just had to get the bag of freshly grated cheese.
Who do I think I am with my fancy meal? Oprah herself?!?!
Needless to say -- I justified the greater expense by saying that there was still more expensive options. But let's face it - I'm not going to be helpful to anyone in this economy. Just tell me it was pressed on bronze plates and I'm there!
